Kindergarten Readiness

Starting Kindergarten is a big milestone—for children and families alike. At Anchorage School, we believe that a confident, joyful start lays the foundation for lifelong learning.

Anchorage Public School Launches the Rising Anchors Group

Supporting Families from Birth to Kindergarten

Anchorage Public School is excited to announce the formation of the Rising Anchors Group, a new initiative dedicated to supporting children and families from birth through kindergarten entry.

This collaborative effort brings together district and school administrators, school board members, and parents, all united in a shared commitment to our youngest learners.

In a time when raising children can feel more challenging than ever, we want families to know: you are not alone. APS is here to walk alongside you, offering connection, resources, and support from the very beginning.

Parent Learning Sessions

As part of this initiative, the Rising Anchors Group will host four parent learning sessions throughout the school year.
Each session will highlight a different area of early development and school readiness, offering families practical tools and guidance as they prepare their children for kindergarten.

Whether your child is a newborn or nearing kindergarten age, all families are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Stay tuned, session topics and dates will be shared soon!
