Mrs. Bartley comes to Anchorage after several years as a food service director in the healthcare setting. She is a 2018 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she received a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics. With a family full of educators (mom is a retired teacher, dad is a retired teacher/ administrator, and little brother is an ag teacher) it only made sense to transition to the school setting! She married her husband Matthew in 2019, and they welcomed their first baby Liam in April of 2024.
At Anchorage Public School, we believe that healthy, well-balanced meals are essential to student success. Our food services program proudly offers nutritious breakfast and lunch options daily, following strict FDA guidelines to ensure every meal supports the health and well-being of our students.
Good nutrition plays a vital role in a child's ability to learn, concentrate, and grow. By providing meals rich in essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients, we strive to create a foundation for academic achievement and lifelong healthy habits. We are committed to fostering an environment where students can thrive—one bite at a time.

What is included in a full school meal?
A full meal included 3/5 school lunch components (protein, grain, fruit, vegetable, milk) with one required to be a fruit or vegetable. They can take all 5, including as many fruits and vegetables as they want and it will still be considered a regularly charged meal. What a school lunch does not cover is - any extra or a la carte items such as: extra entree, extra milk or juice, chips, yogurt, etc.
How do pizza day charges work?
One slice of Papa John's pizza is included in the regular meal charge with a $0.25 upcharge. Each slice of pizza purchased after the first one is counted as an extra entree and charged as such. School pizza is offered every pizza day as an alternative if students do not wish to be up charged for Papa John's.
What payment options are available?
Online payments are accepted through MySchoolBucks. We can also take payments with cash or check at school, and it will be deposited into your student's account.
How do parents handle account monitoring and set spending limits?
Parents can keep up with student's purchases via MySchoolBucks. If there is a spending limit or item limit parents would like to set, they can contact Mrs. Bartley with the specifications of what their child can purchase and how much. These will be added as a note in their Mosaic accounts. (Example - one ice cream per day @ afterschool, only 2 pieces on pizza day, no chips.)
