In the event of severe weather, emergencies, or unexpected school closings, delays, or early dismissals, Anchorage School will activate the REACH Alert system, which notifies families via text message, phone call (cell or landline), and/or email.

How to Register for REACH Alert:

  • Visit www.reachalert.com.
  • Click MY ACCOUNT, then CREATE ACCOUNT and follow the prompts.
  • When asked for the Network Name, type Anchorage School and select it from the dropdown menu.
  • Select your role as “Parent.”
  • Be sure to check the box for “Alerts”—this is required to receive emergency or closing notifications. (Selecting “Reminders” alone will not provide those updates.)

Optional: You may also click JOIN and add the City of Anchorage network if you wish to receive city-related alerts.

If you opt for text alerts, REACH Alert will immediately send a verification code to your cell phone. Enter the 4-digit code on the screen and click VALIDATE. If you do not receive a text or encounter issues during registration, please call REACH Alert support at (877) 307-9313.

Updating Your Contact Information:

Once registered, you can add or update phone numbers and email addresses:

  • Log in and go to your dashboard.
  • Click the CONTACT INFO tab at the top of the page.
  • Add or remove contact details as needed.

Already Have a REACH Alert Account?

If you're already registered through another organization (e.g., the City of Anchorage, an employer, child care center, or another school):

  • Log in at www.reachalert.com.
  • Click JOIN NETWORK on the right side of your dashboard.
  • Search for Anchorage School, select it from the dropdown, and follow the prompts.

Additional Notes:

  • School closings will also be announced on WHAS radio and local TV stations under “Anchorage Public School.”
  • Anchorage School DOES NOT FOLLOW Jefferson County Public Schools for weather-related closings or delays.
  • To ensure you receive all relevant communications, we recommend selecting both “Reminders” and “Alerts.”
  • Because Anchorage School shares the REACH Alert service with the City of Anchorage, all messages will come from the same phone number. If your phone labels these alerts as “City of Anchorage” or “Angie Chick,” be aware that school messages will appear under the same sender.
