Mr. Rogers began his educational journey at Western Kentucky University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. After an internship with the United States Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs, Colorado, he returned to Kentucky to earn a masters' degree in Education from the University of Louisville. Rogers began his teaching career at Harry F. Doss High School in Louisville teaching Business and coaching basketball. Over the next decade, he served in various roles in different districts, including technology coordinator, assistant principal and principal. In the decade that followed, “Coach” Rogers pursued a childhood dream of coaching college basketball, serving as Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Thomas More University and Berry College.

After retiring from coaching, Mr. Rogers immersed himself into his other passion, educational leadership.  He obtained his Rank I in Education along with a second Master's Degree in School Leadership from Murray State University. After two years of service in the district office in Spencer County, he completed Superintendent Certification through Murray State University, before serving as Superintendent of the Fulton Independent School District.

The study of highly effective leadership has been a passion of Mr. Rogers since childhood, and he still enjoys studying organizational culture and building high-performing teams. “It is amazing what can be accomplished when a group of individuals shares a vision and are willing to work collaboratively to serve others," Rogers shares.

Mr. Rogers has three daughters, two of whom are following in his footsteps as educators and the third a junior at Martha Layne Collins High School.  He became a grandfather for the first time this past summer.  When away from school, Mr. Rogers enjoys spending time near the water at his home by the river or at his family lake home on Kentucky Lake.  An avid fisherman, he enjoys traveling to tropical locations, and learning from the local residents.  Mr. Rogers also enjoys sporting events, going to concerts, and watching movies, particularly at a drive-in theater.

Mr. Roettger loves helping students find their niche within the school community.  When he is not supporting his students as they excel in their extracurricular activities, he can be found rooting on or coaching his own two sons in their various endeavors.  Many of which include fellow Anchors!

Mr. Roettger is married and has two sons.  They are also the proud owners of a fun fluffy dog named Louie.   When he is not spending time with his family, Mr. Roettger can be found working in his yard, going to sporting events, and trying to make it to the lake with whatever free time he has left!
